HigherSites were asked to redesign and develop the Unwin corporate website with a remit to ensure the company could take advantage of some of the uses for the web in their day-to-day business. Alongside this was a world first - selling wheelchair safety systems online. We looked at areas that people used most and from that developed a system to ensure browsing and buying products was made as simple as possible for the user.

Owing to the nature of the product which Unwin sell, coupled with the very detailed requirements of each customer, we decided to develop a Store Assistant to aid the shopping process.
Upon entry to the shop area of the site, a large button provided launches the assistant which is a step by step process that guides the user down to the product that suits them based on a series of questions - just like a shop assistant in real life!

Without an ecommerce facility the previous objective of the website was to usher visitors down the route of making an enquiry through either phone or email. A member of the team would then contact the customer and talk through their requirements often taking an hour phone call to reach a solution.
The ecommerce (and store assistant) facility we developed has removed some of this administrative and sales time, and for users who are confident in using the internet to make their purchases made their ordering process far quicker.
